Why not the news? Is a question that goes to all teens. Yesterday was the day that I realized that many teens do no watch the news, they prefer to watch Jersey Shore at ten while the Fox 11 News is on.
As I was waking up from a nap I woke up to channel 11, the channel that has the favorite shows of many. I was watching the news, and there was a pursuit happening, which started in the city of Montebello. The chase began after the police from Long Beach got a call reporting that there had been a shooting. The police began the search of these suspects, as they searched the pursuit began.
While I was watching channel 11, the scene was in the city of Montebello and minutes after the chase continued on Whittier Boulevard. The chase later roamed the city of East Los Angeles, then continued on to the well know community of Boyle Heights.
Sooner than I expected, the helicopter began roaming around my area, and I stepped out of my house for a couple of minutes to watch. All I could hear and see was the speed of cop cars and the loudness of the helicopter with its bright light following the car.
When I ran back into my house, I expected to get texts from friends and notifications from facebook of people updating their status, but as I looked at my phone I did not get a single alert. This situation really shocked me because it is unbelievable how not one person could have updated their status to inform others. I really think that this generation is not aware of anything that is happening around the world because they do not even know what is happening in their community. The chase ended in the city of Boyle Heights on Breed Street around 10:20 pm.
