Throughout time human kind has always been fixed, fascinated with the unexplained, mainly the paranormal. A really fascinating topic indeed. Portrayed mainly in video games and movies it seems as the genre in recently escalating to the living room of every family in America.
A new show recently in its second season, “Destination Truth” has become a popular show on the sci-fi Channel. Destination Truth focus its sights on discovering myths, legends of creatures who are thought to only be a myth, but with the new advances in technology they strongly believe that they will find the truth of these missing links who only live in our imaginations and legends. And another well-popularized TV shows on Channel 5, The CW, “Supernatural” has also hit the television world with this topic. In basic terms it is a show about two brothers who travel from state to state fighting the paranormal.
On the silver screen the paranormal scene has been a big money maker. Movies from the undead rising out of their internal slumber and feeding on the flesh of the living to the basic monsters of ghost and vampires stalking their prey at night have always been a crowd pleaser.Aside from these creatures existing in the theater they have also migrated to video game world of PlayStation’s and Xbox. The well known, award winning game, Resident Evil has been played by almost every gamer in the world. This saga has made billions out of the concept of a secret experimental virus gone horribly wrong, turning the population of the city into flesh hungry zombie creatures. This sparked many more versions of the game and also a trilogy in the movies.
Many people throughout the world have sworn to see something not in the ordinary, a strange creature of some sort, but usually they end up with no proof of any sort. In North America, mainly people in the United States have been fascinated by Bigfoot, described as an ape-man. Many people have their own explanation of what this mysterious monkey is. Some say that the ape is an escaped experiment gone horribly wrong from the government or just a caveman who survived all this years in the vast forest of the United States. Not only those Bigfoots live in North America but also in the mountains of the Himalayas, but also it is formally knownn as the Yeti. Can these two creatures be the same one or maybe a new a new class of species new to the world?
Another Myth that has baffled the audience for decades has been The Scottish Nessie, Morley well known as the Loch Ness Monster. This serpent-type creature has popped out from the pages of history has been said by eyewitness accounts to be terrorizing the shores of lake Loch Ness. This creature is taught to have survived since the last time dinosaurs roam the earth centuries ago. Mainly it is just said to be peaceful and camera shy, that’s why no one has been able to get a proper piece of evidence even though the infamous picture of Nessie seem to be solid evidence, experts have declared that the picture is in fact a fake.
Now For my personal favorite of them all, El Chupacabra. This pop diva of myth creatures hit Latin America with a storm. Instead of being in the tabloids the chupacabra was mostly televised on national news, with many hysterical spectators swearing to have a glimpse of it. The chupacrabra also made many people money, with the selling of t-shirts, movies and even Mexican songs dedicated to the Goatsucker. Like many of the other missing links, the chupacabra has no exact origin just many different rumors of where it originated. This is a bit of background info. The chupacabra is said to have been an alien from a different primal planet. Others claim to have been a DNA experiment gone wrong and escaping. And for the religious people, the chupacacra is said to come from the pits of hell being a spawn of Satan.
No one knows when something out of the ordinary will appear. So if you want to explain what you saw it is mandatory that you have proof. So the next you out in the middle of the woods for some strange reason and you happen to see Bigfoot, please have a camera at hand, then finally all you skeptics will be able to start believing.
