It seems as if the class of 2009 has no spirit. The reason I say this is because every event that happens once a year is for the class that graduates that same year.
“It’s not that our class is Whack, the “issue” -if can even be called that- is that our class is composed of intellectuals.People are more worried about passing their classes and going to college than about dances and senior activities. other classes focus only on having fun but fail to realize that the important thing is to graduate because you’ll have plenty of other chances have fun.” can the senior class president be right when for the past years many have been able to do both? Says the Sr. Class President Christian Aviles 12C.
This year all the events are for class of ’09, but it seems as if they aren’t into the spirit. Everything is getting canceled because of them. Monica Briseno 12A says “people don’t pump it up meaning if someone knows about it or is going to be part of the event then they should inform the others but they don’t. We aren’t motivated, and they don’t inform with timing. I think leadership plays a big part of this or whoever is the one planning the events, therefore they should motivate us and make sure we are all informed to be part of the events. Other than that I think it’s been fun for me personally because I’ve participated I think it can be way better if everyone participated. Also I think it’s on you to make it happen and for your senior year to be good.”
this is affecting the class of 2009 believe it or not because these events are to benefit their class. All I have to say is that if you’re not participating and plan to participate in prom and graduation, you can’t complain if it don’t turn out the way you wanted to or pictured it. Many have never participated in senior events, but when it comes to senior year things either change or stay the same.
Chris Obeso 12C says “senior year has been good and fun, but no I don’t like to participate on any events.”
many like Chris find their senior year fun while not having to participate in senior events. There is nothing wrong with that in my opinion but why not make it better by participating on their senior events and being united with the rest of the seniors?
Well Chris is not the only one Juan Gomez 12C “so far I have enjoyed my senior year. It’s fun messing around in classes. I’m not planning in participating in any upcoming events. I think it’s a fun senior year, but for many others it seems to be the worst year.”
So many of you seniors out there may think like these two guys. The question is why wouldn’t want to be part of the senior year events or if it’s your last year? Are they at least going to participate for their senior prom? They have canceled a couple of dances already it’s very ridiculous because it benefits their class when they participate and allow these events to happen. Seriously what’s up with them? What are you planning to do about this? Will this change? Would you say it’s the class of ’09′s fault or their sponsors? Who do we blame? Will they cause the upcoming classes to lose spirit too? What are we going to do to change all this and have it like we have the past years?!
Jesse Diaz 12A says “I’ve participated in everything this year, but the truth is that it’s been whack because it’s not like the other years in which everyone participates. I expected more because I thought that because I hung out with the seniors last year and thought they all seemed pumped that this year we would be better, but I was wrong I personally think we can’t change it now. I mean I could’ve done something when I was in football season and always around the guys but not anymore. I think it’s still possible for us to have it better but it wouldn’t happen.”
Paula Gutierrez 12A agrees with Jesse Diaz 12A. She participated in everything and plans to continue that way. The only thing she’s says she’s not going to be part of would be senior ditch day because she has perfect attendance. She repeatedly said the class is “WHACK”. Also she said that their class must be united to create change and be motivated.
Seems like everyone was motivated and also involved in everything the past years. And because of this there were more events and things weren’t getting canceled like this year. They were all so pumped it made the non- seniors want to be seniors. Also it shows a lot about the sponsors how did they do it to keep them all motivated?
The class of 2008 sponsor, Paul Burgueno, kept all his class motivated and pumped throughout his whole years of being sponsor. Maybe we should have the sponsors talk to the past sponsors like Burgueno to see if they can cause change and motivation.
And to all seniors, I say you get updated with upcoming events and become part of them at least for once to check them out.
Good article. I disagree with you though. Yeah things have been getting cancelled, but you can’t really blame it on seniors. They may not be involved as much as past years, but it could of still gone on if maybe more freshman, sophomores, or juniors participated. Its true many seniors are more focused on school, but that should be good because wouldn’t it help out our school and isn’t that what our school wants? Good article though.
