my pictures from one amazing night
Denim Day is a sexual violence awareness campaign which all started in 1999, when an eight-teen year old girl was raped.
She was picked up by her married forty-five year old driving teacher for her first lesson. When they were at an isolated road he made her pull over and tried to pulling her out of the car. She tried to escape but he managed to pull her out by one leg and then forcefully raped her. He threatened to kill her if she told her parents, and then made her drive home. Later that day she told her parents and they helped her press charges.
The driving instructor was arrested and prosecuted. He was convicted of rape and sent to jail.
He appeals the sentence. Then this case made to the Italian Supreme Court in just a couple of days. The case was then over turned and dismissed and the perpetrator was released. The argument that won his freedom was made by the chief judge and he argued that “because the victim wore very, very tight jeans, she had to help him remove them, and by removing the jeans it was no longer rape but consensual sex.”
Women in the Italian Parliament were enraged over the judge’s verdict and decided to make an impact and agreed to wear jeans to work. “This call to action motivated and emboldened the California Senate and Assembly to do the same, which in turn spread to Patricia Giggans, Executive Director of peace over violence, and Denim Day in LA was born.”

Fascist Nazi forces from the misnamed “National Socialist Movement” are coming to LA. These racists have been organizing rallies in Southern California to attack and harass immigrants. But each time, they have been driven away by huge counter-???protests.???
Nazi racism targets not only Latino immigrants, but also the Black community, Asians, Arabs, Native peoples, Jews, LGBT people, leftists and anyone who opposes their hate. Now, the Nazis are attempting to rally in downtown LA at City Hall. We must be there with thousands to say NO to racism!
The ANSWER Coalition is calling on all anti-racist people to stand united against the Nazis and drive them out of Los Angeles. Help us build this action. Together, we can stop racist hate! Down with Nazis/KKK!

Now that spring break is here, there are so many opportunities to have fun.
With the new metro gold line, there are many places to go. Such as Pasadena, downtown, and everywhere in between.
People could also go to the beach, or to the forest for the day.
Personally, spring break gives me an opportunity to catch up on any homework, spend time with family, and finally get my room clean!
Have a great spring break everyone. Have fun and be safe!
I’ve never read any books by Nicholas Sparks other than The Notebook, and the movie wasn’t half bad. I watched the movie A Walk to Remember as well, but never got the chance to read the book.
I loved both movies, and they really got me into reading more books by Nicholas Sparks, so when I saw that the movie based on The Last Song, I couldn’t help going out to buy the book right away.
Now the book tells the story of Veronica “Ronnie” Miller, whose parents got divorced, turning her life completely upside down. Three years later, she’s managed to completely alienate herself from her parents, especially her father, and her mother decides it would be best to send Ronnie and her younger brother, Jonah, to stay with her father over the summer. Ronnie becomes furious and refuses to accept any attempts her father tries to reach out to her.
She never expects on finding something as confusing and painful as first love.
Now, I’m no sappy romantic, but the story told in this book is bound to hook any reader, let’s just hope the movie lives up to it, like The Notebook did.
We are in the thick of march madness, and I’m not talking NCAA Basketball. On the heels of the mass demonstration in Washington, DC last Sunday, and marches throughout California this week, Los Angelinos will be out in full force tomorrow.
Congress continues to place the immigration reform bill on the back burner. The last immigration reform bill was passed in 1986 under President Ronald Reagan’s administration.
It’s not right that we don’t focus on the immigration reform bill on the basis that it’s not “practical”. If I may recall, attempting to pass a health care bill wasn’t practical either, however, Congress has made it evident that they have priorities.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa who met with Congress, asked for money to invest in public transportation. As opposed to demand an immigration reform bill for the people of his community, he doesn’t. It’s time that America stops playing politics and starts focusing on what’s right, as opposed to what’s popular.
With the above stated, we, as the youth must show our support. And ultimately, pressure Congress to pass a fair immigration reform bill in 2010. This Saturday, people will be marching to show support. It’s important that people attend! Tell your friends and families to go. SHOW SUPPORT!
“March and Rally, Saturday, March 27, 2010 10 a.m. Olympic Blvd. and Broadway Blvd.”
Everyone is always so anxious for a little vacation. Spring Break is a perfect time to get away from all those different things that are happening in life.
You could be with friends, with family, or just by yourself. It doesn’t really matter as long as you get the time to forget and have fun. Some people throughout the Spring Break will go to the beach, on a get away trip, hangout with friends, or by themselves.
Spring Break is the week when everyone gets crazy and excited. People start making plans like the week before so that way when the day comes there on and going and know already what they are going to do.
So if you’re planning on doing something crazy and over the top, be careful and stay on the safe side. (;
Lately I have been looking out for any news for Starcraft 2. I have watched all 5 battle reports on Youtube. These battle reports are 1v1 matches between David Kim, Matt Cooper, Yeon-ho Lee.
While they play their match(s) the Dustin Browder, lead designer, and Robert Simpson, an E Sports member, discuss the players techniques, strategy, who has control of the battle, new units( Terran, Protoss, and Zerg), new abilities and some thing that they improved from Starcraft which was release 10 years ago.
