Sunday March 2nd was kind of a weird but fun day for me. To start off i had to meet with the journalism class at McDonalds on 8th and Soto at 10:30 am to do our video project. The subject of our project its the Wyvernwood projects also known as the 8th street projects.Well I got up to get ready to go to meet up with my class but I was feeling lazy so i was still debating if i should go or not. I finally decided to get ready and go because i mean anything is better than being home and if i didn’t go my mom was going to make me go to church and obviously i wasn’t going to church

A new law was just signed by the major Antonio Villaraigosa.
Los Angeles became the largest city in the nation Tuesday to require pet owners to spay or neuter cats and dogs that are 4 months old or older in an effort to reduce the number of unwanted animals in the city. The City Council’s 14-1 vote came with no significant debate, in a sharp contrast to the emotional arguments over the past several months as the measure – based on a stalled state legislative proposal – has made its way through the city bureaucracy. “This is a huge step forward in making Los Angeles a humane, no-kill city,” said Councilman Richard Alarcón, who led the effort to enact the regulation. “This ordinance will reduce the number of people maimed or killed by animals and decrease by the tens of thousands the number of animals euthanized in our animal shelters. “The problem in our city is not the animals but the human owners, and this ordinance will allow the Department of Animal services to target resources toward the worst offenders whose irresponsibility threatens public safety and fills our shelters with unwanted dogs and cats,” Alarcón said. He said the measure will serve as a model for the nation as other cities also try to reduce the unwanted animal population. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said he supports the measure as “a crucial step towards increasing the practice of spaying and neutering our pets and reducing our homeless pet population.”

Personally i think its a good law because there are already many dogs and cats in the shelters without a home so why would we want more to be born. What do you think?
Well as we all know teachers are just like anyone of us. They have their good days and their bad, they get sick as well and some have to go to school too. But i think that when teachers are mad they should try to control themselves and not take it out on the students.
Yes i know there are some people in their classes that may get them mad or irritate them but most of the time the teachers take there anger/frustration on the wrong people.
There have been incidents were the teacher only picks on one student when there are plenty more that are talking but the teacher just decides to tell one of the students in a rude way to be quiet.
I guess its just life and we as students are just going to have to put up with it because if we end up telling the teachers something back we will get into trouble but if the teachers say something they got nothing to lose.
Well as my fellow classmate wrote about in an earlier blog we went to on a tour of UCLA.
We all had a great time even though it was raining. The bus ride their was super cool. We had an awesome tour guide (mojo). She was amazing, she was so full of energy and life and she would make s laugh a whole lot. I realized that everyone at UCLA is always so friendly and with smiles on their faces.
The campus scenery is beautiful. The buildings are gorgeous and the sculptures are nice.
I wanted to go to USC before but now i want to go to UCLA because it is full of nice people and a great atmosphere.
Well we also had a tour of the Daily Bruin by the editor in chief, Saba. She was amazing as well. She is the boss pretty much at the paper and she is majoring in pre med. The staff was pretty cool, but to be honest the staff here at the Rough Rider is better. (*joke*)
We also got to meet up with one of my friends who graduated from Roosevelt last year and is now attending UCLA. He is an awesome guy, i had fun with his dorky butt because i hadn’t seen him in about a week. (lol)
Well the day ended by all of us walking back to the bus stop and having a nice conversation about what we thought about the trip. I though it was an awesome and unforgettable trip.THANKS GMAN
Well in journalism class weve been watching videos to get ideas on how were going to make our class video but to be honest that really doesnt catch my attention.
I find myself bored in that class now. I rather be writing an article or blogging. I really dont know why but i just dont want to do it.
Well besides that lately ive been finding myself day dreaming and slacking off in everything i do. Ive been getting really lazy and just dont know whats wrong. Ive had alot of things on my mind but just dont seem to trust anyone enough to talk to them about it.
I really dont know what to do but i know that i will be better soon i guess i just have to relax myself and stop letting the little things get to me. Im just going to sit back, relax, listen to music and clear my head
I think that we all go thru our bad times and we all get out of them. Its just life

Well we all found ourselves laughing because they said that in my case i need to blog less. lol They said that i blog way to much.
They even said that if i could blog about a fly or a bee that came buzzing near me that i would…which is so not true… why would i blog about a bee or a fly when theirs that cute guy across the room. lol
Well anyways i dont think its bad to blog that much….is it??
The Color Purple is a novel by Alice Walker. This amazing novel is now a musical/play.This play is going to be in the Ahmanson Theatre from December 13, 2007 – March 9, 2008. Tickets start from $30 and end at $150. Its is 2 hours and 40 minutes long.
                                                 Â
The Color Purple follows the life of Celie Johnson as she struggles through life in the early 1900s. The film begins with Celie about 17 years old, giving birth to her second child, sired by her father. Her father takes the second child away from her and tells her never to tell anyone about it. Time passes and a local farmer, “Mister”, comes by to marry Celie’s younger, prettier sister, Nettie. Her father refuses to let Nettie marry and gives the man Celie instead. Mister neglects and abuses Celie until Nettie comes by asking to stay with them, because the father can’t keep his hands off her. When Mister is unable to lure Nettie, he sends her away, leaving Celie more distraught than ever. Nettie promises to write unless death keeps her from it, but Celie never receives a letter. Meanwhile, Mister’s lover, Shug Avery, comes to visit and befriends Celie, helping her to understand that she is more than Mister’s servant. The movie culminates in Celie leaving Mister with the threat that everything he touches will fall apart until he does right by her. Mister finds compassion and goes to the INS to help Celie’s sister Nettie prove that she is a US citizen and return from Africa where she has been living with Celie’s two children who had been given to a missionary and his wife. Celie is reunited with Nettie and her two children in a heartfelt ending to an extraordinary novel.
This is a play/musical people wont want to miss.
Well its time for me and my other fellow “c” trackers and “b” trackers to come back to school.
It was kind of hard to get up this morning to get to school because of the fact that i was used to getting up at about 12 or 1 because i was off track but now i have to start getting used to getting up early once again.
But never the less i enjoy coming to school because i get to spend time with my friends and because i once again get to do what i love best and thats write for the newspaper. I am so excited i cant wait to get out the next issue of the newspaper.
Over my break i found myself reading other schools’ newspapers and i kind of got some ideas of what our paper could have.
The thing that i dont like about school right now is the fact that in four months im going to be out of here because im a senior. High school went by too fast and i find myself wishing that i was a freshman again. =(
