First time going to Benihana’s…..
Jan 28th, 2008 by Danny

Since i can remember I have always wanted to go to those restaurants where there’s a big grill in front of your table and the chef cooks and entertains you while you are having a pleasant dinner. Well finally i got to go to one of those. The place is called Benihana located in different locations. I went to one in Chandler, Arizona. I had an incredible time. I even got to taste sushi for the first time. I loved it. I will definitely go again. It is a great place to go with friends, family, and without doubt it is a vast this valentines to take your partner. The food is delicious the mood is fabulous. What else can you ask for?

My Trip to Chandler, Arizona

I left last week on Thursday at 6:00am. A 6 hour trip. Got there tired but didn’t care went straight to the hotel’s pool and took a swim. It was really cold. My reason for going was a Competition for the Law Enforcement Explorers. Only 8 Hollenback explorers got to go including me, my first one by the way other divisions around all California were there too. I had so much fun. It didn’t matter because we learned alot. First we did the laser tagging. They gave us three chances, which we won the last one. Then we did different scenarios which included the Negotiation we had to talk to some guy who had two people hostage. Our job was to convince the suspect to give up or give him something in exchange for the hostages. Another one was the Rapid Response. This one was about two students in a Jr. High school shooting and having students hostage. We had to get there quick arrest them, clear the place, and free the students. One of my favorite scenarios was the ICS. It stands for Intensive Communication System. This system started after what happened on 9/11, this system is to teach us how to communicate with other organizations such as the Fire Department or the FBI. I had a great time. Even though we didn’t win anything we learned new things and now we know what to expect in the next compitition.

He Sang to Me Soooooooooo Romantic…….

I couldn’t believe it when my cousin told me that Rigo Luna was here. He came in the company of other artists. Some of the girls here may not have known who he was but i sure did know who he was. I love his new single “Nunca”. I took some pictures with him and asked him a couple of questions for the newspaper, so while my cousin was interviewing Autorida de la Sierra, I asked Rigo if it was so kind of him to sing me one of his songs and he said “yes”. But i never expected him to start singing to me right next to my ear. I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked. He not only sang it to me next to my ear but he sang it to me so romantic and sexy. Rigo sang to me the song that i like “Nunca”. After he sang it to me I told him that that was the song that i liked. He just smiled and gave me a hug. I will never forget that, and sure i will never tell my boyfriend because he would kill me. HA HA HA HA.

The Latino Grammys in the Schools

Yesterday during 5th and 6th period there was an assembly for those students that had perfect attendance and for musicians. Akwid was there, Rigo Luna, Autorida de la Sierra, Paulina Aguirre, Malverde, and some other important business people. If you haven’t heard from these famous artists then let me tell you a little about them. Akwid are two brothers Sergio and Francisco. They sing Urban music both spanish and english. Akwid makes their music sound unique; they mix hip-hop with Mexican music. They where born in Jiquilpan, Michoacan and live in South Central L.A . Rigo Luna use to be from a band called Nu Flavor back in the 90′s. In 2006 his new album, “Nunca” was release. His style is romantic and tender with a little of naughtyness. He was born in Compton L.A. Autorida de la sierra is a Durangense Mexica Band. They are originally from Chicago. Paulina Aguirre is a christian singer. Malverde is a Mexican American rapper who is the son of Mexican immigrants. He released his album in 2004 called Mi Palabra (My Word). Now he is on his second album La Leyenda Continua.

They took the time to come and talk to us about how important is to stay in school and finish your education. They said that no matter what you want to do in life, finishing school is the better way to succeed in life. They also talked about how sometimes being Latinos people thought they couldn’t make it. It was a cool experience. I believe that this is a good idea, having celebrities coming to our schools and talking to us about how important is to finish school and how not going to school may of affected them in there careers. Maybe this way students can start looking into there future and start doing something about it.
