Black And White
Feb 3rd, 2010 by 323lui24

Black and White it does sound somewhat wrong, but in reality it’s a title of this book.

This book I would recommend to all those people who are really close to your friends. When i first read this book back in tenth grade I didn’t really find the theme to it, but now as a SENIOR I read it again and the book makes a lot of sense now.

When you grow up with someone you grow up knowing them pretty well and you support everything they say or want to do.

I won’t get so into the point because it would be better if you read it. It could relate a lot to the type of friendship you have or something you would want to ignore.

It’s one of my favorite books.

2010 Dunk Contest
Jan 30th, 2010 by 323lui24

This year Nate Robinson would be defending his title against some of the best dunkers in the league. Some of the Players that would be participating would be Chris Brown A.K.A Shannon Brown, Gerald Wallace, DeMar DeRozan, Eric Gordon. The fourth dunker is not yet determined there would be to players that would be getting it down to determine the fourth participator. It is between DeMar DeRozan and Eric Gordon.  To me those two are not really the type of players that could reach the title yet. Their are only two players that i believe could give Robinson a challenge are Shannon Brown and Gerald Wallace.

I really hope that it goes down between Nate Robinson and Shannon Brown with both of them getting to the last two men standing. Hell would be lose because these guys are one of the best dunkers of the season. All i would have to say is LET SHANNON DUNK!

WingStop Where Wings happen
Jan 25th, 2010 by 323lui24

Wing stop is the place to stop if you are a wing person.  They have some of the best wing and fries in town. The best thing about them is that they have different types of wings. There are nine different types of wings and there all pretty dam good. The nine flavors are Atomic, Cajun, Original Hot, Mild, Hickory Smoke BBQ, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Hawaiian, Teriyaki.

The ones I hardily recommend are the Mild and Original Hot, and Hickory Smoke BBQ. To me they’re not sweet, but it has a taste that is so great that it makes you wanna keep dipping it inside the ranch.

Original Hot – well, what can i say about that? The name gives it the meaning. They’re so good that i cant even explain it, and I’m afraid if i keep talking about it I will end up hungry.

I would recommend all you wing lovers to stop and eat some wings. If you’re not able then just stop by and take them home for the road.

And the other best thing about this place they give you ranch fries potato salad as well. That is a perfect meal. I love this place.

Kobe vs. Lebron
Dec 3rd, 2009 by 323lui24

Lil Wayne – Kobe Bryant. Well in this world we do have haters. We have Kobe haters, but yet again we have Lebron haters and i won’t lie about this am not a hater of Lebron i just hate him like so much that everything about him bugs me.

Yea he may be one of the best players in the league at this point but really really what can he actually brag about. He cant be compared to Kobe he has it all any player would actually want. 4 championships, finals m.v.p, olympic gold medalist, m.v.p. of the year, and a four time all-star m.v.p.  Kobe doesn’t brag about it he doesn’t need to.

While Lebron i dont really even wanna talk about him he has a gold medal and a couple of all star m.v.p but yet again he aint really as talented as The black Mamba.  Kobe has it all Lebron has it all but the true Gold. So i know Kobe is a great as Jordan something that Lebron wont be good as.

The only cool thing that these two shared is the puppet commercials.

So all let you people be the judge of that if you seen them play.

What type of fans do we have?
Nov 26th, 2009 by 323lui24

Something I didn’t like right from the get go from Wednesday night’s game was the fans that were supporting our team. For those who attended the Classic, you would think we had that much support every week.

For the past two weeks including the first playoff game against Grant, the crowd was quiet and somewhat empty.

That wasn’t the case today. It was packed a lot of people there to SUPPORT the football team, but that wasn’t the case, was it? There was a section – wait, not a section – just one person, you would hear screaming at the team from the stands saying, “Lets’ go Riders, let’s get a stop!”

But were the fans supporting him? No, they were just quiet.

A good team such as RHS needs the support from the fans. The fans are the once that get the players all pumped up, and without their support the team is left alone.

At the rally the day of the Classic the people were crazy out of their seats. In the playoffs that wasn’t the case and at the end of the game it was really heard seeing all the players and coaches. Not only that, but what type of fan support do we have when the fans start to leave when the game is over? The least they could have done was cheer for their team that they had a great season.

Growing UP
Nov 24th, 2009 by 323lui24

It seems like just yesterday that I was in middle school, growing up with the homies playing basketball, or even football and sometimes soccer. They were some of the best years in my life growing up with them.

Now in our senior year it feels so good that one of my closest friends ever since middle school is making something out of his life, playing something he always loved to do, football. Giovani is also know as CareBear #68. It makes me proud that he is doing so well playing football and that he has accomplished so many things in such a short time.

It would have been even better if we could have all stayed together and played together. Sometimes life takes us on different paths but I’m glad I am able to witness the great things that he has able to accomplish and I really wish the best for him after high school.

It would be nice if he gets to the NFL; it would be a dream come true. care bear gio

Best Cartoons
Nov 16th, 2009 by 323lui24

Throughout the years the old cartoons were the best, especially Looney Toons. I would say those were the best ones of them all. They had it all: best characters, best movies, best everything.

I remember I was a huge fan of Bugs Bunny. He was just one hell of a crazy rabbit.

Over the past years there have been so many new cartoons that are not the same as the cartoons from back then, like Tom and Jerry.

But I mean one of the best movies that has to deal with cartoons has to be Space Jam. Why do I like this movie? Well, why not! It had Looney Toons!

But wait, it gets better. It has the best player in the NBA with Michael Jordan. At this point watching Baby Looney Toons is still kool because it has some of the most famous characters there will ever be.space-jam LooneyTunesWallpaper800 Tom-and-Jerry-tom-and-jerry-81353_800_600

NCIS
Nov 16th, 2009 by 323lui24

Well as many of you people have heard or seen there are a lot of different shows that has to deal with criminal investigations. Just to name a few, Law in Order, CSI Los Angeles, CSI Miami, CSI NY,  NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles. These shows are really good but my opinion is that the best there is, NCIS i fell like its more original and that the rest of the shows are just trying to copy it but then again its just my opinion. The other shows are more serious and you don’t see humor unlike NCIS there is a lot of humor involved in that show. The other shows their are some young people that are leading a squad or like famous people like LL COOL J. The reality to me is that there has to be a a lot of experience like Agent Gibbs. Then again you have Monk. He him self is a pretty good character to play the role of a investigator but i still would want NCIS any time because to me its original.

Players using steroids
Nov 16th, 2009 by 323lui24

Over the past few years there has been talk whether steroids should be allowed in sports.

We all know there are a lot of famous athletes that have used this drug, but in reality what’s the purpose for them to take this drug? Is like this when you are new to a team one thing you are expecting is respect from all the team. It is just disappointing when you get caught using steroids because you are letting the team down.

When you arrive to a new team you receive respect from all the fans and players. As soon as they find out you were abusing steroids, should the fans and players still show respect?

My opinion is that as soon as you let the team down by having  to be suspended for half of the season due to steroids ,all the respect they had towards you should be gone.

A team works best when they have all the full team, but if their best player has to be using steroids then you just are representing the team or the organization the wrong way.

People that use steroids have made records on them on, but they don’t deserve that. There are many talented players that don’t count on steroids to play the game. They are the ones that deserve to be on the top.

What ticks me off is that after the player comes back from suspension the people still have respect for him. Who ever uses steroids in sports should be kicked off and sent to JAIL! athletes-steroids clemens30_feature

Riders win 2009 Classic
Nov 7th, 2009 by 323lui24

fansFriday at Roosevelt was one of the biggest days anybody could look forward to. Having one hour of lunch just to see what we all have been waiting for. The rally was of the charts.

That was pretty amazing how it was going down at Boyle Heights.

The time came when it was time to celebrate the 75th annual of the East LA Classic.

It was so insane when it came time seeing both sides get full. It was crazy, but either way we Riders had a good time.

We had some struggles at the first half, but when the second half started we were all glad Ayon was on the field. As soon as we started to see how Roosevelt players were adapting to the running game everybody was on their feet.

The thing that was very succesful was the defense in the second half.

At the end when Roosevelt won. It was a day you wouldn’t forget for the Class of 2010.

Hopefully we take it all the way this year because we have been waiting for the moment of the playoffs to start. Go RIDERS!!!
